It's Chrissssssssssstmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!!!

Ho Ho Ho.. but before we crack on with the festivities an update on a very productive week!.

Firstly.... *drumroll* the roof is finished! We couldn't be more happier with the end result, it looks fantastic and we are so pleased we chose the shingles we did as they really do demand a steep roof.

The "toe kicks" (roof scaffolding) are still on the roof so that Mr M can use them to add the wrap to the dormers and fit the windows, otherwise he might slide right off.

The front....

And the back...... how is it already covered in needles?

The dog ears either side look great.....

So that's another milestone crossed off the list! and onto the next.  Windows!

After spending A LOT of the week procrastinating and researching Mr M finally took a leap of faith and cracked on!

My kitchen window was first, mostly as it needed the least amount of house wrap since it is under the porch and so will never be in the direct line of rain...

The rest of the house that isn't under the porch needs to be wrapped first, good job it's Christmas we've been getting lots of practice with wrapping....

You start off by going side to side, bottom to top....

The you cut and wrap around the windows....

Yes we will be going right to the top, just not quite this week!  So next its the windows.  Each sill needs to be sealed to keep them watertight.  Fancy plastic corners...

Then you stick some sticky tape - or if you want to get technical - window flashing....

The window flashing is then stuck all the way along the bottom of the window opening.....

Like so....

Then you silicone around the edge of the window, and get silicone everywhere and all over yourself, and then you slide the window in to place, viola....

Then you put some more sticky tape around the top of the windows and seal them all up.....

Starting to come together....

So it will be all systems go now to keep cracking on with house wrap and window installation! dormers soon - up the roof he goes!

In the meantime we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy belated Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa.....

Whatever it is you celebrate be happy, joyous and always show kindness...
