We're all going on a summer holiday......

But before we go quick update.  Insulation is all go, go, go... after he finished up the guest bedroom he started on the roof, first of all our bedroom...

Once all the insulation is in you then cover it in plastic wrap...

Onto the storage area.....

It's all quite repetitive.  But the downstairs guest bedroom is all finished bar the paint and finishing up etc.. but it is ready for our summer guests...

Of course it can't be all work and no play during the summer months, so some fishing days have been enjoyed...

And the freezer has been getting stocked...

To go with all the yumminess coming out of the garden...

So we are outta here for the next few weeks, we'll be back after our summer hollibobs! Go enjoy the summer and everything that comes with it....

Moving right along......

Moving right along with insulation.....

And some more squirty cream expandable foam....

He then had an inspection on the insulation and got a tick v.g. so he was able to switch it up a bit and start on the dry wall/plaster boarding.  We have some VIP guests arriving so we are working on the guest bedroom and bathroom.

Ceiling first....

And onto the walls, cut no corners you are being watched...

Summer is in full swing in the garden, pickings are good and we are enjoying lots of yummy stuff on a daily basis.

I harvested my garlic for 2019 and I definitely didn't plant as much as I harvested.  I ended up with 95 bulbs! Oh My.  I took some to the farmers market yesterday and will keep all the biggest bulbs to replant, we should be set for garlic for the next year...

I've already cleared the bed and planted up cauliflower and brussel sprouts in it, and in the cleared pea bed have another full planting of peas that I am hoping will arrive right around the end of the summer!

Until next time folks.

Bloomin' lovely...

Last week was a short week as it was July 4th, so we had some company come to town and kicked back and enjoyed the celebrations Port Orford style.

Back to work and it is on with insulation.  It's all about the walls...

Quick update from the garden, the pollinators are loving the pollinator beds and doing their thang....

Every year I wonder if we will get anything out of it, and then, the garden starts giving us the good stuff...

Peas glorious peas...

Finally, this is the third year the swallows have visited this birdhouse, babies are hanging on as long as possible before flying the nest.....

Stuff it in.....

Mr. M has been making headway and getting the insulation started.  He began with the little dormers, and he first had to add wood to fatten out the rafters to allow for extra insulation, and then he leveled out the walls.   Also, there was lots of additional pieces of blocking that needed to get put into the rest of the house in anticipation of insulation and wall boarding.

Little dormers with extra wood....

Precariously placed scaffolding allows you access to all areas whilst not meeting any health and safety requirements...

Then you just stuff it in...

Seal up the gaps with squirty cream expandable foam....

All 3 dormers are done ceiling and walls...

Just the rest of the house to do....

The 2019 harvest has begun.....

And my spectacular radish harvest :) :) :) I officially give up (for now)

And the raspberries are starting to come good,,,,

What's in the future harvest basket? cucumbers...

Patty pan squash....

And peas - so many peas please....

And my random volunteer runner bean came up again this year, it's way ahead of my main crop of runners and has plenty of flowers.....

Flowers everywhere, the bees are happy...

The nasturtiums are looking particularly splendid right now.....

See you in 2 weeks time.
