First you mark the chalk lines..
Then you start building the walls...
And then you lift them one by one into place...
You can't tell but this is a cupboard and then another cupboard.... can you see what is it yet? ...
Downstairs bathroom and utility....
And a hallway.... it's not very big, but then our house isn't very big either :)..
And in other news, the roof is in progress! It really is VERY exciting to see it all come together. It's definitely a challenging roof with lots of steeps and valleys but it's starting to come together...
Shingles... English people won't be used to seeing shingles on a roof or even know what shingles are. So to help you understand, from Wikipedia "Roof shingles are a roof covering consisting of individual overlapping elements. These elements are typically flat, rectangular shapes laid in courses from the bottom edge of the roof up, with each successive course overlapping the joints below. Shingles are made of various materials such as wood, slate, flagstone, fibre cement, metal, plastic, and composite material such as asphalt shingles."
We are using composite shingles and we have chosen a slightly different pattern to the standard flat shingle. Our roof is very steep and very visible and will be a big feature of the house, so we wanted to dress it in something special....
Finally, something else that is dressed in something special, 'tis the season to be jolly, deck your halls and all that balls.....
