Warning, readers of this blog may be disappointed...

If you were expecting to see some house progress.  However,  if you are looking for photos of fish, flowers and fresh veggies, then this is the blog for you.....

So Mr. M might have gone fishing for a few days, it's good for the freezer, but does slow house progress down somewhat.

He has got the door surrounds on the doors..

And varnished too...

He has also put up one of his corner posts...

Only 3 more to go...

Well what a week, Mr. M looks exhausted LOL!!!!

One of the great benefits of this blog has been the ability to compare my garden year on year, two years ago I was already picking zucchini's and turnips.  This year I have pulled a couple of small turnips but nothing to get excited about, and my first zucchini is very nearly ready...

This time of year I think it is a good expectation to just go for quality over quantity, that way you can never be disappointed :)

My flowers are definitely not disappointing, my pollinator bed in my veggie garden...

Full of baby blue eyes...

Tidy tips....

Cornflower polka dot mixes...

California bluebells...

And lots of others that haven't flowered yet.  I also have nasturtiums all over the place, the bees are having a ball!

And I have pulled my first garlic harvest for the year.  These were some bulbs that I planted in January when they started sprouting inside, so I stuck them in the ground and voila.  This lot will be off the farmers market soon, fresh garlic is always welcome!  My main crop is just starting to throw out their scapes, nothing quite like fresh garlic!

Keep ducking on....

More ducting.. it's quite repetitive this house building lark.  Ducting is all in under the crawl space, so now it is being put in all through the house...

For my English readers....we are installing forced air heating.  The ducting carries the hot/cold air around the house and it is blown out into the rooms via vents (register boots) in the floor....

Once all (or most) of the ducting is installed you then have to fit the air handler - I suspect that handles the air!  You take it apart and turn it upside down and put everything back in....

The evaporator.....

And then you put the front back on and lift it into place....

And there you have it.  So onto a quick garden update, picked and ate my first raspberry - DELICIOUS..... Mr. M can have the next one....

Red currants are doing their thang and going red....

My flower bed is starting to bloom...

They are in competition with my sweet Williams that are storming ahead in the pretty stakes..

Mind you they've got some competition in our back porch.  My Christmas cactus and another currently unnamed spurious Ikea cactus are also in flower...

Veggies are growing well, beans, zucchinis and nasturtiums, with potatoes behind them...

Please, peace, peas....

Parsnips with a bald spot....

Greenhouse is coming along...

Won't be long Brian.....

Getting all ducked up.....

It's been a much more productive week.... firstly the dormers all got some more house wrap treatment, and then fitted with their window surrounds.  Only thing left to do the dormers is to fit the shingles...

The Mr. M took the decision to move away from the remaining window surrounds and start working on the ducting for his heating system.  He was getting a bit burnt out on window trim and endless layers of paint.  So last week he had put this together...

This week it's been all systems go... The above box sits in the utility cupboard and has the air handler on top of it, this being the inside portion of the heat pump.

You cut a hole in your floor...

Stick lots of metal boxes together...

Stuck together with some sticky paste......

Turn it upside down and drop it through the floor and down into the crawl space...

You lay all your ducting out up top....

Stick it together in manageable lengths and then you head down into the crawl space and put it all together....

Exciting stuff.... next week he will be cracking on with more and hopefully get it mostly finished.  Then who knows what is next!!
